Hardware Requirements
Corona requires a CPU that supports the SSE 4.1 instruction set.
Only very old CPUs don't support it: Here is a list of compatible CPUs.

To use our optional Preview Denoisers during interactive rendering, you need:
For the NVIDIA GPU AI denoiser: an NVIDIA GPU with Maxwell or newer architecture and the newest GPU driver. Not all mobile GPUs are supported.

For the Intel CPU / GPU AI denoiser: an NVIDIA GPU with Volta, Turing, Ampere, Ada Lovelace, Hopper, or newer architecture or an AMD GPU with RDNA2 (Navi 21 only), RDNA3 (Navi 3x), or newer architecture.
Note: these denoisers are optional, and Corona works fine even if they are not installed. We also offer a High Quality denoiser, which utilizes purely the CPU, and this denoiser can be used on any computer which can run Corona.

There are no other hardware requirements.

AI Denoisers
To ensure smooth operation and best performance for Interactive Denoisers (NVIDIA OptiX and Intel OIDN), please make sure you are using the newest driver available for your graphics card. The drivers can be downloaded from nvidia.com and amd.com.

What hardware do you recommend?
Corona is a CPU-only renderer, so the more powerful CPU you use, the faster renders you get. You can compare the performance of various CPU models here: https://benchmark.chaos.com/corona/v10/scores

Another well-known website with various CPU benchmarks is https://www.cpubenchmark.net/

The above benchmark results are proportional to the rendering performance in Corona, so you can define your budget and pick a CPU with the highest score within that budget.   

You will also need a decent graphics card, however, it's only needed for good viewport performance in your host software (3ds Max or Cinema 4D). Rendering in Corona is purely CPU-based.

You will also need as much RAM as possible. Nowadays, 32 GB is the bare minimum and 64 is the standard. If you can get even more, you will be able to render even more complex scenes without running into any issues.

Exciting News for Twinmotion Users!

We're thrilled to announce that Twinmotion will remain free for students, educators, and hobbyists. Starting soon, there won't be separate Education or Community Editions; everyone eligible for the free version will access it through the Epic Games launcher, just like before.

With these changes, the Twinmotion perpetual license will be replaced by an annual subscription model.

But what does this mean for existing users?

• Versions prior to Twinmotion 2023.2.4 will remain perpetual.
• Customers who recently upgraded to Twinmotion will receive updates, hot-fixes, and patches for one year from their purchase date.
• Perpetual upgrades will no longer be available.
• If you're using Twinmotion 2023.2.3 or earlier, pricing and licensing changes won't affect you until you decide to update to 2023.2.4 or later versions. Perpetual license holders of Twinmotion Commercial Edition can continue using them indefinitely, regardless of revenue. Subscriptions are only required for new releases (if not eligible for the free version) or publishing to Twinmotion Cloud from newer versions.
• Perpetual license holders with access to Twinmotion Cloud can still publish new projects from their version. However, publishing new projects to Twinmotion Cloud from Twinmotion 2023.2.4 or later will require a paid subscription. Existing projects uploaded to Twinmotion Cloud can still be accessed and shared.
• Twinmotion Cloud functionality will be exclusive to paying license customers. There won't be an option to purchase Twinmotion Cloud separately from the paid license.
• Community-based support and learning resources will remain freely available on the Epic Developer Community.

Enhanced weather particles
A little precipitation can bring a lot of credibility to your visualizations. We’ve refactored the rain and snow particle effects to improve their visual fidelity, including the way accumulated rain appears on various surfaces, and how water droplets splash off puddles.

Path-traced transparency for water materials
Come on in, the water’s lovely! Path tracer now correctly renders transparency for water materials, so you can more accurately depict items like lakes, swimming pools, ponds, and other water features.

Local exposure
Sometimes, your Exposure setting has to be a compromise between very dark and very bright areas. Local exposure works on top of that, mimicking the way your eyes adjust to different lighting conditions and preserving highlight and shadow details in scenes with high dynamic ranges.

Adobe Substance 3D material support
Access the wealth of Adobe Substance 3D parametric materials out there, with the new ability to import SBSAR files and store them in the Twinmotion library. All exposed parameters are available to edit in the Twinmotion Properties panel, with textures generated on the fly when tweaks are made.
